Esteemed Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside actor Finn, who featured in popular programs like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in LA on Monday following treatment for a cancer diagnosis beginning in 2022, as reported by media reports.
"He saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his family shared in a message.
They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".
An Extensive Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he played the lead character's sibling.
He subsequently landed a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, portraying a party host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous popular shows, like:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His work in movies encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
A Life in Improv
Outside of his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe named Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored many learners during his career and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
In a tribute, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he posted on social media.
Pat Finn is survived by his wife Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
