Liverpool's Star Issues Statement to Liverpool Dressing Room, Reveals Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has revealed that Mohamed Salah said sorry to the group of players following the controversy from his televised remarks.
What Happened
Salah was left out from a key Champions League match following criticising the club and claiming his connection to the head coach had broken down.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I'm sorry.’”
The manager has chosen not to reveal on whether he got an explanation from the 33-year-old forward.
Looking Ahead
He emphasized that the dressing room atmosphere stayed normal. “Nothing about him changed, he had a big smile on his face and we all treated him normally,” the midfielder explained.
Jones also suggested that a teammate fighting for a place is less of an issue. “I get that there are different methods you can express yourself,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just not start, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Team Form
Their results have stayed unbeaten in the period after the initial controversy. He feels the forward's comments were not designed to cause disruption.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it’s always been from a good place,” the midfielder stated. “That chapter is closed and we’re gelling well as a team, playing well and on a positive run.”
