The Streaming Platform is Developing a Popular Game TV Show from the Producers of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.
The latest action-packed game that audiences explored was Far Cry 6, that showcased Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the bad guy, Antón, and came out during October 6, 2021. As a series, it is known for embracing violence and mayhem with the same enthusiasm, all while presenting captivating, socially charged narratives. Little surprise that FX's decision for a Far Cry seasonal program brought on board two visionaries whose projects have represented all of those elements.
About the Series
Based on Ubisoft's popular video game property, the short-run anthology series will be available on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The series will also follow the video games' structure by featuring a different backdrop and cast of characters in every instalment.
Executive Team
Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as lead producers on the series through their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
We’ve shared excellent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is fresh, engrossing, and wildly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our associates at Ubisoft for trusting us with this popular property.”
Upcoming Developments
Mac will also star in the show, but at the time of writing, we are unsure of what part that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently renewed for another season, with FX and Disney finalizing a new overall deal with the creator.
“Getting to work alongside Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably supportive, entrusting us with one of the most iconic video-game universes ever created. And along the way, my FX partners continues to lift me up with their steady trust and assistance.”
“What I love about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an anthology series. Each game is a variation of a idea, the same way every run of Fargo is a version on a story,” noted Hawley. “To create a epic action show that can evolve from season to season, while always delving into the nature of people through this complex and unpredictable lens, is a dream come true. I’m eager to collaborate with Rob and bring our common bold, ambitious approach to the audience.”
A time frame for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
