Two dozen from Nigeria Schoolgirls Liberated More Than Seven Days After Abduction
Approximately 24 Nigerian female students taken hostage from a learning facility eight days prior were liberated, the country's president announced.
Attackers raided a learning facility situated within Kebbi State last month, fatally wounding a worker and seizing 25 students.
The nation's leader government leadership praised security forces regarding their "quick action" to the incident - while precise conditions surrounding their freedom had not been clarified.
The continent's largest country has experienced a spate of captures in recent years - with more than 250 children abducted from religious educational institution last Friday remaining unaccounted for.
Through an announcement, an appointed consultant to the president verified that all the girls abducted from educational facility located in the area had been accounted for, stating that the incident triggered copycat kidnappings within additional regional provinces.
Tinubu announced that extra staff will be assigned towards high-risk zones to prevent more cases of kidnapping".
In a separate post through social media, Tinubu wrote: "The Air Force will continue constant observation across distant regions, coordinating activities with ground units to accurately locate, separate, interfere with, and counteract any dangerous presence."
Exceeding 1,500 children were taken hostage from Nigerian schools over the past decade, back when 276 girls were taken hostage amid the notorious major capture incident.
On Friday, no fewer than numerous pupils and workers got captured at an educational institution, a Catholic boarding school, located within local province.
Half a hundred individuals abducted from educational facility have since escaped as reported by the Christian Association - but at least numerous individuals haven't been located.
The leading church official in the region has commented that the administration is undertaking "insufficient measures" to rescue those still missing.
This kidnapping at the school was the third impacting the country within seven days, compelling President Bola Tinubu to call off journey global meeting organized within the African country days ago to address the situation.
